These are a few of the men and women that went to work in Pennsylvania and were fatally injured never going home to their families at the end of their shift. We remember, honor and recognize these men and women for their dedication and hardwork. We would like to sincerely thank the families that shared their loved one's picture and their tragic loss with USMWF.
Gregory was killed on the job in December 2010 while working for West Penn Energy Services in Elderton, Pennsylvania. He died in an explosion on the job.
Federal OSHA investigated the incident and proposed a $6,000.00 penalty for two serious violations. In an informal settlement the penalty was reduced to $5,000.00 for one serious violation. This inspection is closed.

----Killed at West Penn Energy Services when thawing a valve on the back of the empty water tanker in the yard of the facility when the explosion occurred causing a manhole cover to come off a residual waste tanker truck, striking Gregory, in Elderton, PA.
~ 9/6/1984 - 12/9/2010 ~
Nikolai was killed on the job in March 2014 while working for TnT Oil in Warren, Pennsylvania. He was welding on the top of the tank when the torch he was using caused vapor in the tank to ignite and explode.
Federal OSHA investigated the incident and proposed a $10,200.00 penalty for two serious and one other than serious violations. There were no reductions during the informal settlement. This inspection is closed.

---- My son, Nikolai G. Briggs, was killed on March 12, 2014 in a workplace accident. He was employed by TnT Oil in Warren, PA. He was born on April 26, 1987. He was 26 years old at the time of his death. We miss him terribly.

Chad was killed in November 2005 while working for Savage Services in Hyndman, Pennsylvania (at the Metikki Mine Maryland). He died while driving a loaded coal haulage truck and it flipped over.
MSHA failed to investigate the incident until it was brought to their attention by the victim's mother and the Charleston Gazette. No citations or penalties were issued.

Nick was killed on the job in October 2013 while working for Eastchester Department of Public Works (Town of Eastchester City) in Eastchester, NY. He was on the back of a sanitation truck when it backed up pinning him between a telephone pole and the truck. He died during emergency surgery.
This was not in the OSHA's jurisdiction.

~ 04/06/1971 - 10/07/2013 ~
Tony was killed on the job in January 2015 while working for Silvi Concrete (Riverside) in Bristol, Pennsylvania. He was killed when a silo collapse and he was buried under mounds of cement. On January 11th Tony was found after being buried for three days.
Federal OSHA investigated the incident and proposed no penalty or
violations. This case is closed.

~ 8/22/65 - 1/11/2015 ~
Greg was killed in September 2008 while working for B.L. Myers Bros.
in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania. He died when a 34-ton vehicle tipped onto
its right side and he was hit by the 25-foot mast.
A investigation into the disaster and did not identify any contributing violations and assessed no penalties. This case is closed.

Gary was killed in August 2001 while working for Miadville Redi-Mix
Concrete in Meadville, Pennsylvania. He died from a fall.
Federal OSHA investigated the incident and proposed a $6,000.00 penalty for two repeat violations. These were not reduced.

Scott was killed in October 2002 while working for Weeks Marine
contracted with Armco in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was killed when
he fell in the Schuykill River.
Federal OSHA investigated the incident and proposed a $4,950.00 penalty. In an informal settlement the penalty was reduced to $0.00.
