info: Downey Kaiser Hospital complex has been built on one of the most
toxic sites in the Los Angeles area and hundreds of workers have been
sickened as a result of the failure of the developer
Stuart
Lichter to properly clean up the site and also the failure of Federal
and state regulatory agencies to properly regulate health and
safety protection along with enforcing fraud violations because
of workers comp cost shifting by the developer and companies. Injured
movie industry from Dreamworks and the Downey Studios and Kaiser
hospital workers, ILWU longshore workers along with other injured
workers and their families will speak out about health and
safety.

6:00 a.m. I will be a speaker at that event. (Training on Workers Rights about Health & Safety after the event at around 7:30 or 8:00. I may do a second session at 4:00 p.m. as well. We are still working out the details on the training part.)
At 10:00 there is a ceremony at the AFSCME Council 4 Union hall in New Britain CT. I attend, but do not speak at that one. It could be tight making that one if the training session at the first one runs as planned.
