My Grandchildren
My time came sooner than expected.
I dreamed of meeting you,
Holding you,
Kissing you.
I dreamed of being there for your 1st birthday,
Seeing you ride your bike,
And taking you to the park.
I dreamed of going to your activities,
Being your biggest fan,
Spoiling you with love.
I couldn’t wait to meet you,
To see the similarities in you and your mom/dad,
To see that look that you would give me and my heart melt.
Although, my time has ended,
I will know you,
I will be there for you,
And I will always care for you.
I will be there in the end,
I will be there in the end,
Greeting you with arms open,
And a smile,
I will always and have always loved you!
