MARYLAND'S FALLEN WORKERS

These are a few of the men and women that went to work in Maryland and were fatally injured never going home to their families at the end of their shift. We remember, honor and recognize these men and women for their dedication and hardwork. We would like to sincerely thank the families that shared their loved one's picture and their tragic loss with USMWF.

~ 2/ 21/1963 – 9/21/2004 ~

Marlo Paul Cabot, 41

Marlo was killed on the job in September 2004 while working for Harmon Inc. at the Washington International Airport in Baltimore, Maryland. He was killed when a 1-ton pallet of glass panels fell on him.

Federal OSHA investigated the incident and proposed a $4,625.00 penalty for one serious violation. In an informal settlement the penalty was reduced to a $2,000.00 for one other than serious violation. This nspection is closed.

Inspection: 308017730 - Harmon, Inc.

Marlo was lost during a construction accident at the Baltimore -Washington International Airport. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local #16. Marlo was of a proud Filipino heritage and enjoyed being with friends and family. Marlo and Michele had been married 18 years and have two beautiful children. Michele has lost half of soal, her children's father, her husband and friend. Michael 16 and Katie 15, had a good relationship that extended that of a father and child. Michael has lost his best friend and Katie her famous father whom she strives to emulate.

~ 8/1/1968 – 6/3/2019~

​Trina Cunningham, 50

Trina was killed in June 2019 while working for the Department of Public Works employee at the Patapsco Wastewater Treatment Plant. It is believed she fell approximately 20ft from the grate on the catwalk falling into the a vat of water.

This is being investigation by Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Jason Schneider, 36

Jason was killed on the job in August 2013 while working for the Baltimore County Police Department in Catonsville, Maryland. He was shot while attempting to serve a search warrant for a 16 year old suspect and was shot by a 25-year-old shooting suspect.

This is not in OSHA's Jurisdiction.

He was shot and killed in the line of duty. (Feb 11, 1977- Aug 28th, 2013). He is survived by his wife, Ericka Schneider and 2 children Kayla Sealover and Brandon Schneider. Jason was an amazing father, husband, son and brother. Jason was an honorable and affectionate man who will be remembered and never forgotten. Jason was a dedicated police officer and marine who loved and cared for everyone. Schneider served 13 years in local law enforcement and 10 years in the special tactical unit of the Baltimore County Police department and served with the U.S Marine Corps.

~ 10/22/1992 ~ 4/1/2020 ~

Leilani Margurite Jordan "Butterfly", 27

Leilani Jordan became ill on the job in March 2020 while working for Giant Grocery Store in Largo, MD. She is believed to have contracted the COVID-19 virus while at work.

~ 10/26/92 - 03/19/14 ~

​Chad Louis Weller, 21

Chad was killed in March 2014 while working for Redwing Electric LLC (Fairfield, New Jersey)at the Eastern District police station and a fire station in Pasadena, Maryland. He died after he fell from a 200-foot water tower.

The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Program (MOSH) is inspecting the case is ongoing.

Chad was the most loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, boyfriend and friend. He had the most amazing personality that lite up any room he walked in. He wanted so much to join the Navy and had set a goal to do that this summer, but sadly that never took place due to his tragedy He was always there to pick up anyone that was feeling down and put a smile back on their face, he had a heart of gold, Chad loved the work he was doing, I remember him telling me that he felt so peaceful when he was up on the towers, he loved fishing, crabbing, hunting and his new pick up truck. Chad is greatly missed by many but his memory lives on through all who loved him.
